Tim Wicker - Managing Partner

Prior to founding The Compliance Connection; Tim has held significant senior roles such as Head of Financial Crime Investigations, Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) and Compliance Advisor with major Banks and Financial Institutions. He has lived and worked in the UK, South Africa, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Tim demonstrates a clear knowledge and understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to Compliance, AML, Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Fraud / Financial Crime and MLRO matters; across the broad spectrum of Retail, Corporate, Commercial, Wholesale, Private and Investment Banking. His Regulatory exposure covers Tier 1, Emerging and Frontier Markets environments; and he has deep experience of successfully managing multi-cultural Compliance, AML, Fraud and Financial Crime Investigation teams across countries, cultures and regulatory requirements.
Beyond the Middle East, Tim’s Financial Compliance jurisdictional experience has covered the Regulatory environments of Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Turkey, Singapore and the UK, from a base in the GCC.
Tim has provided advice and guidance to financial services firms world-wide. He has successfully mentored many CCO’s, MLROs, Internal Auditors and Fraud Investigators and implemented several sophisticated Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Name-Checking Systems.
As guest speaker and panellist at industry conferences, Tim’s expertise has been sought after to cover topics such as Fraud Prevention and Management, Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorist Financing, Customer Profiling and Risk Assessment – to name a few.
